Surveyor Arrested in Raigad for Accepting ₹50,000 Bribe: ACB


Raigad, Maharashtra: A government surveyor from the Land Records Office in Raigad district was arrested on Thursday for allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹50,000, the Maharashtra Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) confirmed in an official statement.

The accused, identified as Vishal Bhima Rasal (29), was posted in Mhasla. According to the ACB, he had allegedly demanded the bribe from a landowner in exchange for measuring a plot and issuing related land documents in Varvatne village.

Acting on a complaint from the landowner, the ACB laid a trap to apprehend the suspect. Rasal was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe at a state transport bus stand.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Sashikant Padave, who led the operation, confirmed that the accused has been booked under relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act.

Further investigation into the matter is currently underway.
